The 2025 Annual Convention of Efik people in the United States, held in Atlanta, Georgia was marked by joy and splendor with the highlight with the highlight being the presentation of the Chapter of the Year Award. This award, introduced for the first time since the reconstitution of all Efik Associations in the U.S. into a single body, went to Nka Ikem Esit USA. Cross River State Governor, His Excellency Prince Bassey Otu, who graced the convention with his wife, personally presented the award to the chapter. Receiving the honor on behalf of the chapter, outgoing president of Nka, Mma Rita, expressed deep excitement and gratitude. She thanked God for the recognition and pledged that the chapter would strive to retain the title in subsequent years. Nka will win this back-to-back every other year,” she declared, urging members to raise the bar in the coming year to actualize the pledge.
