We’re a volunteer-run, non-profit group working to improve life for people in Calabar, Nigeria, and minority communities in the Washington DC area. We do this by providing services and opportunities in;

Our Vision is to be known for offering unique and valuable programs in education, culture, health, and social services. We also aim to play a major role in helping Efiks and other minority groups thrive in the communities we serve.
We also work hard to keep the Calabar culture alive through books, art shows, cultural events, and displays. We want to build strong communities based on self-improvement, love, and unity, and we partner with businesses, other charities, and individuals to make that happen. We raise money through events and donations to fund our work.
As a volunteer-run, non-profit organization, we strive to positively impact our communities and minority groups through our programs and initiatives.

NKA will hold its November monthly meeting on Saturday, November 1st, 2025. All members are encouraged to be in attendance.

Nka Ikem Esit proudly concluded the tenure of its award-winning executives under the leadership of Ms Rita Nyambi and ushered in a new administration following elections conducted by the Association’s Election Committee, chaired by Mrs Atai Nyambi.
The August Monthly meeting for the association was held on Saturday, August 2nd. NKA will elect new officers for a two-term during the next monthly meeting on Saturday, September 6.

NKA hosted its 2025 5K Walk-a-Thon on Saturday, May 10th at Black Hill Regional Park in Boyds, Maryland. Members showed up in great numbers to support the cause.

This annual initiative encourages participants to embrace a healthy lifestyle while strengthening bonds across generations and regions.
