CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS

The 2012 Annual Convention of Nka Ikem Esit Charitable Organization was held from Thursday, July 26 to Saturday, July 28 in Washington, D.C., hosted by the Washington D.C. Chapter. The event took place at the Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel and was honored by the presence of distinguished dignitaries, including His Excellency Liyel Imoke CON, Governor of Cross River State, and Obong Ekpo Okon Abasi Otu V, the 78th Obong of Calabar.

CONVENTION HIGHLIGHTS

The Convention held at Hilton Washington DC/Rockville Hotel hosted by the Washington DC Chapter, this year’s convention brought together Efiks from across the nation to celebrate unity, culture, and heritage.

  • Sightseeing Excursions: Visits to the White House, Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, and Baltimore’s Inner Harbor.
  • ENA Youth Program: Engaging sessions for young participants.
  • Young Adult Networking Events: Opportunities for connection and professional growth.
  • Cultural Performances: Showcasing the vibrant traditions of the Efik people.

From breathtaking cultural displays to vibrant traditional dances, the event showcased the beauty and spirit of the Efik people.  It was a weekend filled with connection, pride, and celebration.
