PROGRAM OVERVIEW

Humanitarianism is woven into the fabric of Nka Ikem Esit Charitable Organization, Inc. The chapter has consistently designed and executed impactful outreach projects aimed at improving the quality of life for vulnerable populations in both Nigeria and the United States. These efforts reflect a deep commitment to dignity, empowerment, and compassion.

In October 2022, Nka Ikem Esit collaborated with CROWEI (Cross River State Women’s Emancipation Initiative), operating as the Exquisite Ladies Foundation, to deliver walkers and walking sticks to the Society for the Blind (Above Limitation) and elderly amputees in Calabar, Nigeria. This effort was aligned with White Cane Day and helped restore mobility and dignity to dozens of recipients.

In November 2007, the organization donated funds to the Efik National Association to help defray the cost of transportation for a container-load of medical equipment donated to a hospital in the Cross River State of Nigeria. This program was organized in collaboration with the Nigerian Women of Georgia (NWAG) to promote access to health care for the poor.

In 2009, the organization sponsored the furnishing of the Intensive Care Unit waiting room at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Calabar, Nigeria. The following items were provided to compete the waiting room to ensure that mothers with babies in the ICU had a comfortable waiting area close to their babies:
